Senior RSS leader Ram Madhav has firmly rejected speculation of any friction between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stressing that both organisations are part of the same ideological family and work in harmony for the nation’s development.

Speaking to ANI, Madhav clarified that while the BJP operates in the political sphere, the RSS focuses on social service, and their coordination has always remained intact. “RSS and BJP are two organisations joined under the same ideological umbrella. These speculations arise from time to time, but there is no tension between the two,” said the former BJP National General Secretary.

Madhav’s comments came amid opposition criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address, in which he acknowledged the RSS’s century-long history. Congress leaders called the reference an “insult to the Constitution and tricolour.”

Reiterating the Sangh’s inclusive character, Madhav said people from diverse political backgrounds, including the Congress, are welcome to contribute to its activities. He criticised opposition parties for targeting the RSS for “political gains,” insisting the organisation has always been dedicated to “man-making” and nation-building.

He further praised PM Modi’s Independence Day remarks, calling them a morale boost for swayamsevaks and a recognition of the organisation’s century of service. “By describing RSS as the biggest NGO in the world and highlighting its 100 years of dedication, the Prime Minister has sent a very good message to the country and to RSS workers,” he said.

In his address from the Red Fort, PM Modi lauded the RSS for completing 100 years, calling it a “proud, golden chapter” in India’s nation-building journey.
